Explore the essentials ↓A CLEARER WAY TO COORDINATE
Managing a personnel radiation monitoring program involves more than issuing badges.
Wearer changes, badge exchanges, reporting, and account administration all require attention. LumiDose’s focus is giving Radiation Safety Officers, health physicists, and program administrators a simpler way to coordinate this work—with responsive service and knowledgeable people to turn to.
Our focus is straightforward: less time navigating administrative complexity, more clarity for the people responsible for radiation protection and regulatory compliance.

KNOWLEDGE THAT SUPPORTS YOUR PROGRAM
Personnel monitoring essentials
with sources you can check.
A radiation badge is one part of a radiation-protection program. Start by identifying the requirements that apply to your facility, then connect monitoring, administration, and review.
For NRC-regulated activities, 10 CFR 20.1502 sets conditions requiring individual monitoring of external and internal occupational dose. The monitoring decision depends on the applicable criteria and anticipated exposure; it is not simply a question of whether a workplace has a radiation source.
Start here: Ask your radiation-protection lead to document which monitoring criteria apply to each worker group.
Read 10 CFR 20.1502 ↗OSHA’s ionizing radiation standard addresses radiation surveys and personnel monitoring. Section 1910.1096(d) includes monitoring provisions based on exposure conditions and entry into high radiation areas. Establish which regulatory framework applies to your operation before selecting a monitoring approach.
Start here: Review your radiation hazard evaluation with the person responsible for your safety program.
Read OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1096 ↗Source check: September 29, 2026. These introductory summaries are educational, not a determination of your facility’s compliance obligations. Confirm applicable rules, license conditions, and program requirements with your radiation-protection lead.
